ABOUT THIS EVENT

Hannah has been training dogs professionally in the Twin Cities for 7 years. She specializes in working with aggression and reactivity and helping owners find peace on both ends of the leash. In addition to behavior modification, Hannah has an affinity for high drive dogs and sport obedience. She prides herself on her approachable and practical advice and supportive and warm group training environments. Read more about Hannah here.

This seminar is for dog owners of all levels of experience. This is truly a “working seminar”. Think of this event like a series of private lessons, with an audience. We’ll cover just about everything from  obedience to reactivity to building your own confidence and handling skills. If you’ve been wondering what Common Ground Canine is all about, this is your opportunity to check it out.

DAY ONE of this event will be the main seminar and lecture. There will be working spots filled by dogs chosen specifically for what they can demonstrate to the group. Working spots cost the same as auditing spots. This is so that we can use whatever dogs would be best for a specific conversation and so each dog gets exactly the experience right for them and are not overworked or underworked just to fill the space that was paid for.

All attendees who would like to volunteer themselves and their dogs for a working/demonstration spot should send an email to commongroundcaninemn@gmail.com. Hannah will choose dogs based on what they can demonstrate. This may change day of as different topics are brought up. In your email, please provide details about your dog, what you would like to work on during this seminar, and your experience with training so far.

DAY TWO will be all working spots. We’d love for everyone to bring a dog or a few they’d like to work. If you are traveling from out of town and cannot bring your dog, that’s fine. Auditing is available for the group portion as well. Each dog will get two to three sessions depending on the number of dogs we have in attendance. What we work on during this time is specific to you and your goals for your dog.

Most dogs can attend. They must be under control at all times and be able to be safely handled, if needed, by Hannah. If you are unsure if your dog can attend, please shoot me an email at commongroundcaninemn@gmail.com.

Each day will begin at 8am and end approximately at 5pm. There will be breaks throughout and an hour and a half for lunch on Saturday. Lunch will be hosted Sunday. A list of dog friendly hotels as well as restaurants below. Dogs must be crated in vehicles when not working. The seminar will be on private property and cars will be nearby at all times. The weather should be warm. Please prepare to keep yourself and your dogs cool. Indoor , air conditioned space is available if weather is extreme. If the weather is moderate we will be outside both days.

There will only be 30 spots available. A non-refundable deposit of $30 is required prior to July 15th in order to reserve a spot. After July 15th, if spots are still available, the full amount is due to attend.

The cost is $100 for two days. This includes one person and one dog. If you choose to only attend Saturday, the cost is $55 with or without a dog. It is not guaranteed that your dog will be chosen for demonstration on Saturday. On Sunday, additional dogs are $55. Each dog will get two to three sessions on Sunday. These sessions will vary in length depending on your specific goals. Every dog in attendance is guaranteed at least two sessions with Hannah on Sunday. Unless you are already an established client, you cannot attend Sunday only.
